Today I am writing about Kate Middleton`s morning sickness. While morning sickness is common in a pregnant womens first trimester, Kate’s condition is not. The Palace said that Kate was hospitalized because she had severe morning sickness called Hyperemesis Gravidarum.
Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a severe morning sickness that happens to 1% of pregnant women around the world. The word “Hyperemesis means vomiting alot and the word “Gravidarum” means pregnant lady or women. Pregnant women vomit in their early weeks of pregnancy but when diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum they requires serious attention because they vomit more than normal pregnant women. When you have Hyperemesis Gravidarum you can`t keep down your food and fluids. Also you lose alot of weight because of all the vomiting . Sometimes when Hyperemesis Gravidarum is really severe like in Kate`s case, you will need alot of medical attention. For example you will need IV fluids to prevent dehydration and medication for your vomiting. Hyperemesis Gravidarum can be really severe that it can affect the function of your kidneys and cause problems with the your fetus. Women that have Hyperemesis Gravidarum with their frist pregnancy will have subsequent pregnancies.
Nobody knows the exact cause of Hyperemesis Gravidarum but some believe it is because of genetics, hormones and over sensitivity to HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in the body. It also can cause liver problems. Some believe that if you are carring twins that you stand a higher risk of getting Hyperemesis Gravidarum because of your hormone and HCG levels in the body. The risks to the baby is that it might be born early or underweight. So the hospitial will give you vitamins to help with the Hyperemesis Gravidarum symptoms.
The herb ginger helps take away some of the vomiting and even though it helps Hyperemesis Gravidarum it shouldnt`t be taken lightly. ( My mother said that it is a myth because it didn`t work for her or the people that she knew that were expecting.) Once you notice that you are vomiting uncontrollably you should go see your doctor for medication.
When Kate went to the hospital the Doctors said that she would have to stay up to 7 days in hospital for treatment and after 7 days of treatment she would require lots of rest. Kate was 12 weeks preganant when diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The Doctors said that she would likely recover in a few days. According to Kates Doctor when a women is expecting she needs a balanced diet, excerise and good rest. The Doctor mentioned that if untreated the mom and baby will be at risk, she might not be able to deliver and be very ill for a long time. But if it is treated early the mom and baby will live a long and happy life. Kate Middleton was released just a few days ago from the hospital.
The reason why Mercury has ice on it is because it is tilted and it stays tilted not like the Earth, so like the Earth it moves so that we have seasons. But Mercury stays tilted so the shade part of Mercury never sees the sun so that is why Mercury has ice on it. You ask how does Mercury have water on it to make ice. When asteroids hit it the water came from it and that side never sees the sun so there is ice. Like the Earth we got our oceans and rivers water from asteroids Yes so the water that we are drinking is from outer space. That is pretty neat.
